Does your pet have a human name or a pet name?

I have two pets with "pet" names (Hobbes %26amp; Frosty) and two pets with human names (Trey and Lacey).

My dog's name is Gus, but for some reason my family just calls him Tofu
Reply:My dogs (not named by me) are called Tess and Scruff (i human name, 1 not)


my hamsters (named by me) have doubled barreled names, half of which i name after my friend's surnames - for example, i have elliott-ski because my friend's surname is elliott and ski made it sound more like a female name, she's called ellki for short


my other 3 hamsters are called hamilton-star (hamstar for short), beattie-river (beave for short) and hobbs-nessbitt (hobb-nobb for short)
Reply:Human name, but generally i don't like naming pets human names. My dog was named Sophie because when I was little I thought she was such a "Softie" with her soft fur. I thought Sophie sounded like Softie, so I named her that. Lookin back, I never name any of my pets human names. It's just weird....
Reply:Unfortunately, my cocker spaniel has a human name: Sandy. Because of that, I'm afraid she think she's a human. I just don't have a heart to tell her that she's a dog.





Consider this a lesson learned: Always give your pets non-human names so they won't think they're humans.
Reply:How is the difference determined? Is there a list? I know a child named Vincina? Is that a pet's name? Oh, I know..I should just shut up and use my common sense! lol

Past pet names I have had for dogs are, Foxxy, Giuseppe, Vivian, Rocky. Lots of pets throughout the years, I just love dogs!
Reply:Of our twelve pets, 5 have human names (Ben, Callie, Maggie, Dee and Betty). The other seven have 'pet' names (Pixie, Yogi, Shade, Bronx, Kelpie, Indy, and Cinder).

Reply:One with a pet name, and one, human name. The one with the pet name, is not too much of a pet name, as it is used for term of endearment for a person.
Reply:One is named after a town where he was found, another is sorta named for her Momma. Her mom's name was Sassy and was from Arkansas so I named her Sassy's Southern Belle. (Belle for short) My cat was named sorta after Smokin Joe Frazier. (Smokey for short)

Reply:I have three dogs. Two have pet names (Sugar and Prince). My other dog's name is Elvis. I don't know too many humans with that name anymore but it is technically a human name.

My kitty is Jade. I didn't name her. I'd have named her Kate or something. If her name was Kate, I bet I'd love her more.

Reply:My dogs name is Kayla I guess you can use that as a human if you would want to. But she's sick and I don't know how much longer she will be will us unfortunately.
