Does your pet have a funny name? How did you come up with it?

I used to have a boyfriend with a cat named sock-head... because we put a sock on her head when she was a kitten and she scooted around backwards like a lobster...

Does your pet have a funny name? How did you come up with it?
My dog's name is Puppy Wuppy. When I got him from the shelter he'd been picked up as a stray so they gave him some generic name that didn't suit him, like Cosmo or something. We thought he was a puppy so we just started calling him that until we got to know him and decide a name. We took him to the vet the next week and found out that he wasn't a puppy, he was 1.5 yrs old, not 7-8 mo like we thought. By then Puppy Wuppy had stuck. I often wonder what his name was the first year and a half of his life, because I can't imagine him as anything else.





Also I have a cat named Pookie Lips. He has an overbite that makes him look like his lips are pouty or "pookie" as a friend described it.
Reply:I named my cat kittyy because i wanted it to be generic and incividual at the same time. The 2 y's make her different.
Reply:i have a rat named Tahty! i wanted to name it sweetheart but thats lame so i took some letters out of sweetheart and jumbled it up and made tahty! i also added a Y!
Reply:I had a dog named Spot, which most people didn't find funny until they saw him and realised he had absolutely no spots. My sister picked the name and I think she was 4 or 5 at the time.





I also had a cat named Marbles. She was a Calico and reminded me of a marble countertop, so I named her Marbles. I didn't think it was that funny but a lot of people did.





I now have a snake named Pennywise. I don't know if he's a boy or a girl because you have to have it probed to find out. So I was gonna call him It, like the clown in the Stephen King movie, but then I remembered the clown's name was Pennywise, so that became his name. But now everyone asks me if it's because I like the band Pennywise.

Samhain-he's black and came to us on Halloween, and that's the Gaelic word for Halloween.
Reply:fuz ball becuz when he was really little he could fit in your hand and was so fuzzy he looked like a big ball so we named him fuz ball (hes a lionhead rabbit)
Reply:I have a dog ( a Deutsch Drahthaar) that I named Onion, 'cause he's so ugly he'll bring tears to your eyes.
Reply:I have a yorkie/chihuahua (5 pounds). We named him Kujo because he the sweetest guy ever. And everyone laughs because hes so small with a big name.
Reply:Yup,a cat named burnt kitty.Shes black and orange,like the coals on a pit.Someone said she looks burned--so burnt kitty it is.Also Fire and Cracker.Two sisters,one orange tabby,and one grey tabby born July 5th.

I got him when he was 14 weeks old because he was orphaned. Hes still pretty small but hes doin a lot better now
Reply:I named my hermit crab "Buzz" because in one episode of The Simpsons, a hermit crab crawled out of the shell Lisa gave to him and into Homer's discarded Buzz Cola can.
Reply:I have a dachshund puppy and his name is cooter brown from dukes of hazard because this dog was about as dumb as the character on the show.
Reply:my dogs name is simon and he is a toy poodle and my niece call him that cause his name was just fluffy and she call him that and i ask who was simon and she said that it was a cat. so i like the way she said it so i called him that. simon fluffy

But other then that, I don't know any weird names...unless my cat that my four-year-old sister named, Spouse, counts.

Reply:My cat's name is Maxwell Frog. He and his sister were wild kittens but we got them very young. He is a yellow cat with an M on his forehead (most cats have some kind of M but his is very prominent). My daughter in law was here and she suggested Maxwell. Then she told me she had named a frog charm that hangs from her car mirror Maxwell. We decide that Maxwell Frog suited him because he was always jumping around.





His sister's name is Daisy.
