What kind of dog is it? if it is a wokring dog look into its history and id bet you can find stories where a certain dog saved live or somthing and name you dog after that.

If it likes to eat carrots, you could call it carrot, or rabbit or you could check out what the word carrot is in other languages. then no-one will know that its name is really carrot!!!
