Where did you get your pet? I got mine at a shelter in orland park


How did you get your pet like if it was a stray or something if you took it in.


How did you name your pet? We were going to name her Jasmine but dogs learn there name faster if it is short so we changed it to Jazzi.

I got my Betta Fish 5 years ago from Petco and I named him Stormy because it was a stormy day and he is dark blue.
Reply:Horses- we buy and give names of hero's from books/mythology.


Dog- got from a friend grand kids named Ozma from Oz book.


Cats- just seem to show up on there own, Blackberry was living in the blackberry bush, Fitz looks like a Fitz, Eskrina is a name from a Terry Pratchett book, and Tussah is a Russian blue cat, tussah is a type of silk.


Cows- Nandi is from the book Roots, Esmay is from is from Terry Pratchett also.
Reply:My husband got our Golden Retriever Sunday. He found him online and loved the kennel so he drove 4 hours each way. We named him Rex. We had a bunch of names to whittle down. We got Rex from the soaps, they always have good names.
Reply:we got our weimaraner puppy from a breeder and he is sooooooooooooo beautiful but get s into everything possible so we named him rascal (alas little rascal)
Reply:My son takes in strays,especially if they're pregnant. Then he takes care of the kittens until he can find good homes for them. He brought over one of the kittens for me after I had lost my cat to cancer. I named the new baby Muse. It's a play on words, which I love to do. All the kitten did for a week was mew mew mew-so he became Muse.
Reply:i usually just take in cats that wander to our house. all but 4 of our cats are all related in some way, due to having the same mother/grandmother. i normally name my kittens based on their personality and looks. as for dogs, we've gotten all our dogs from shelters or people who were selling them. a few of them were already named, but the rest of them we just named them what we thought suited them.
Reply:i found my pet in the shelter in Oak Forest, i named my pet giggles because when i brought it home my 1 year old brother kept laugh'n at it.
Reply:My mothers chihuhua had a litter of puppies and I picked out the runt. She was a female apple head chihuahua...cream colored with white dipstick tail and believe it or not a white heart on her head. I wanted to call her sweetheart, but we ended up calling her 'Twinkie'....cause it's the cream filling...lol.





She's 8 years old now, and she still anwers to 'Puppy' which is her nickname..

Reply:ive had numerous animals alot of my cats were adopted as there were goin to be put down my first was a tortis long hair she was a stray i called her heavensent as she was gorgious and looked like she was sent from heaven great personality. the next was apocalypse she was a smokey grey long hair real ***** of a cat she was named because my partner thought heavensent apocalypse was funny. plus she looked like death warmed up. the next was a black with white feet and chest she was originally 8ball cuz she slept in the balls in our pool table but we renamed her gambit cuz if you said 8 ball while playing she would jump on the table. gambit was because she liked it we were watching xmen. the next was a tonkanese that we named domino cuz of the spots adn she had a real surviver attitude like the movie domino. all these cats have been rehomed. my dog jackson was named after daniel jackson on stargate as he was always a smart *** of a dog and way to smart for his own good he was a white boxer cross bullmastiff he was very similar to the character he was named after. now i got a bird frankie after a character in my favorite movie and i chose frankie cuz im not sure if its a girl or boy. my mum called her bird buddy cuz i was teachin him to say whos my buddy out of encino man (pauly shaw) my cat obie was cuz she had slight marking of an o and a b on her back.





and it doesnt matter how long the name is they know it jackson loved his name and he even knew when i was making fun of him calling him fat head (cuz he had a huge head)





oh my dog was from a breeder and frankie was from a pet shop which i never recomend again he was sick when i got him my mums bird buddy came from a breeder and he was health and is 9 years old and still goin like the day we got him

We got a tiger one and named her Tissy. I don't know where I got the name, it just started coming out of my mouth.





My big dog is from a shelter, his name was already Blue, he has one blue eye and one brown eye. I didn't want to change his name because he already had it for a year, and I needed him to listen to me. But he doesn't very well. He is the most difficult dog and the dog I have loved the most.
Reply:cool! a relative of ours that has a lot of cats n one of them had babies so she gave 2 of the babies to us cuz we kept saying how we want a pet. there's still one more at her house! i think it's a female though, cuz these kittens are both males..... i dont really like their names(it's Puma n Simba) lol but that's what my fam decided.....

Chewy - border collie mix (he is mostly white) my husband named him after Chewbacca





Ayla - boxer mix named after the main character in the Clan of the Cave Bear books by Jean Auel

Reply:My 2 parakeets were given to me by someone who didn't want them. They had no names when we got them. They are now known as Love %26amp; Bird (that is what the the person we got them from thought they were).





My cat was a freebie from a neighbor who's cat had kittens. She goes by several names, but her given name is Peeps, because well, she peeps at you.





My cockatiels were another case of rescue. A friend of mine died, and a mutual friend of ours ended up with them and did not want them. Mary was named for one of the people my friend who died originally got the bird from. Chip's name is a mystery as he came to my friend with that name.





Another of our cats is named Buddy. He was a stray who was living in our garage as a kitten. My mom named him because he's her buddy.





I had a dog once I named Giggles. I was 2 when I named her, and apparently she made me laugh.





Our final cat is my boyfriends and he named her Zoey. He got her from his friend who had a litter of kittens. Origin of name is 'because its cute'.

Reply:well i have 2 pets. We George from the newspaper i believe and Maycee we got from someone my dad had worked for. we named george george cause we started talkin bout names. Maycee came wit her name.
Reply:my pet was dumped on independence day so i ended up taking her in. her name is now Lola shes a golden retriever that is fixed. can you believe that shes fixed and knows tricks.


How did i know she was dumped? I actually seen them do it.

Reply:erm, we kinda found the cats, like mine i got from a baseball game that we went to and this kid was handing them out and they were so cute, and baby a freind of ours found and kup was hanging round were we used to live. i got my dog when he was a pup from my grandparents. they went and got him from the shelter cause i really wanted one when we moved into a house. i got all of them as babies. my dog's name is bandit cause, well, he just looks and acts like one. i love that name and it really fits him. my kitty's name is Snow cause when i got him i thought it was a girl and it was the first white kitty i've ever had that's solid. baby looks like a baby(well, did till we got snow) and kupcake just cause i like that name. lol. she kinda reminds me of one, well, used to, now i don't like her cause she pees in front of my door... oh, and i also have a bunch of bunnies that ive named cause my grandparents raise and sell em and a bunch of other random animals we've had. ^_^ oh, forgot to mention, my dog was thrown out of a truck goin 55 on the highway, that's now he ended up in the shelter. when we got him he was really small and now he's like huge...
Reply:we got my dog at the mall. he is so cute. And it wasnt my choice for what we named him. But we named him Gizmo, because he looks like Gizmo from that one movie.
Reply:I got my cat from my mother's friend's friend, lol. His name's Miko. (My mother brought him home, so I didn't get to choose him myself).
Reply:I had the name picked out. Me and my fiancee were talking about possible names and found one that I loved, Draxxus (Drax for short). I got my puppy from posting a wanted ad on craigslist. A couple contacted me about a female dog they had adopted from a shelter was pregnant and they were looking for homes for the puppies. We talked for around 10 weeks and he sent pictures and I went to look at the pups when they were ready and brought Drax home. My friend also adopted a puppy and one for her boyfriends parents that wanted one. It saved them from being in a shelter and they have happy homes.





My first cat I got from a vet office. He was tossed into a dog cage before he was weaned and they said that he would hiss at everyone that had looked at him but when I came to see him he jumped in my arms and wrapped his paws around my neck and purred. He went home with me and he was my birthday gift from my mom. HIs name was Fritz but he didn't seem to answer so I started saying names and he came to Tiger so now it is Tiger Fritz.


My second cat was given to me by my brother. His roomates dog were attacking him and he was very upset, started peeing in the tub and hiding. His name is Sal and he gets along great with Tiger.

Reply:I got most of mine at pet stores, reptile shows and some were almost roadkill. I named them how they looked like (ex. my bird was yellew so i named him Yellowy).

Reply:I got my puppy Maya from a High Kill Shelter in Virginia. I felt so great saving a puppies life, I cant wait until I get older so I can get more. I named my puppy in a very simple way, first I wrote down a list of all the names I would concider, then crossed off ones I didnt really like, and then I finally found one that was perfect for her, Maya.
Reply:Got my doggie from the Humane Society. I think he was abused and abandoned before they rescued him. :(





He's a chocolate lab, they named him Hershey but he didn't respond well to that.





My mom and I discussed different names we liked and when I said "Jackson" he perked up and started wagging his tail. So we decided to name him Jackson Browne.

Reply:We got our dog at the shelter, her name was Sheba, but she didn't respond to it so we wanted to change it after that...Too bad we couldn't get that out of our head after she came to live with us, so we just changed it to Shiva.
Reply:u can get a pet from da mall in da pet store, n da S.P.C.A, lots of pet places. sometimes if u go to da S.P.C.A the pet like if u get a dog or cat the pet is already named. but just pick a nice name 4 a pet. or if the pet is maybe white u could name it sugar. but that's just an exaple though.
Reply:Mine was a stray born in the Vet's barn... when we took her she wouldn't fit in your hand... so very tiny... her name keeps changing as we haven't found one she likes to answer to... the only thing that will make her answer is shaking the treat can! So she has been Baby, Emma, Spunky Monkey, Monkey she is a kitten... should call her treats! lol
