Is it an honor or offensive 2 name ur pet after a person?

Would you be offended? or do you think of it as an honor?

Is it an honor or offensive 2 name ur pet after a person?
I'd say it was an honour,

animals are quite amazing and I'd like to think someone naming their animal who they are cleary going to love is sweet.

I don't think everyone does though, or rather they don't like to admit it..
Reply:I wouldn't name my pets after a person. However if someone did decide to name a pet after me for whatever reason, I'd definitely be honoured rather than offended, no matter what the animal was :)

I suppose it depends on why they named it after you really? If it's because they admire you or you're a good friend or whatever, that's lovely. If they name something after you because it's ugly/smelly/they don't like it then you probably wouldn't be so pleased...
Reply:i wouldn't mind. :)
Reply:Ah. I wouldn't do it. I think most people would take offense. It's not the same as having someones child named after you. Generally people are not happy when they find the pet is named after them.
Reply:If the person you wish to name your pet after is an animal lover, ask them first. I personally would't mind it. However, if a person was going to name a pet after me and give it a nickname that is offensive to me then I would find it offensive. If you are close to the person that you want to name your pet after, it could get kinda confusing when you are talking to others. Are you talking about the pet or the person? You may be telling a story of how "Brittany" pooed all over herself. If you forget to correct yourself and others are afraid to ask, they may assume you're talking about the person.
Reply:Some people would be offended to be taken down to the same level as an average household pet.

Then there are people like me, who understand that household pets are often cherished family members, and I would feel honored that a cherished family member is also my namesake.
Reply:I'm not certain that it is either, but you are welcome to name your pet(s) after me.
