Okay, i have a pet goose named charlie, is it illegal to put a collar and name tag around her neck if it fits?

the collar fits appropriatley, not to tight, but not loose enough to slip off.

Reply:no do not do that they have bands you put on there leg for marking and they have a collar that go around the body and lets the wings do there thing. it made for small birds but you can look into it. go to pet stores they have the info there
Reply:no it is not illegal as long as your nearest department of natural resources and/or animal patrol know you have the goose as a pet. sometimes that could be illegal.
Reply:I can't imagine that it would be illegal. As long as you aren't being cruel to the animal, you can do whatever you like with him. It would be odd for their to be a law that you couldn't collar him, when you could pop him in a pot and have him for supper any time you liked.

Reply:You would be better off (and so would Charlie) by having a vet put a bird tag which goes on their leg. There would be a danger if Charlies collar got hooked onto something and he couldn't get it unhooked and would become injured.
Reply:It's not illegal anywhere I know of. Actually, it sounds kinda cute. Geese make excellent watchdogs, so maybe you could put a small badge on the collar. (If you have Navy people around, put the 'S.P.' for Shore Patrol on his collar and really amuse them.)
