What to name my new pet bunny rabbit?

I need a name for my new rabbit. He is a California lop, solid colored in a light brown coat. He's very sweet and loves to toss his little wooden play blocks around. I cannot think of a name for him, though. Nothing sounds right. Any suggestions? Thanks!

First thought name your bunny rabbit George W Bush....

Well Naming your new pet can be difficult and overwhelming, and, after all, you will have to live with the name that you choose for as long as your pet remains a part of your life. This article will help you choose a name that you'll love almost as much as you love your pet.

Steps

1. Look at your pet. Does he or she have any distinctive physical traits? Color, unusual markings, size, or other notable aspects of your pet's appearance could all suggest a variety of names. For example, an animal with yellow or gold coloring could be "Goldie", "Sunshine", "Butter", "Cheese", "Banana", "Dandelion", "Daffodil", or any number of other yellow or gold related names.

2. Think about your pet's personality. Does he or she remind you of a person, character, or character type? Is there an activity he or she loves to do? Is there a character trait that jumps out at you? Any of these could suggest a good name.

3. Consider names that you just like the sound of. Names from books, movies, or TV shows you like are often good choices.

4. Get suggestions from friends or family. They may have great suggestions you never would have thought of.

5. Once you decide on a name, use it a lot around your pet. If you want your pet to respond to the name, offer praise, attention, and even treats if your pet looks in your direction when you say his or her name.

Tips

* Don't feel you have to be overly creative or clever with your pet's name.

* Choose something that is easy to pronounce.

* Don't always go for common names, such as Patch, Tiger, Rex, Max, Fido or Fluffy. If a common name really suits your pet, that's fine, but it could get confusing if there are numerous "Fidos" in your neighborhood. Try to look outside the box and find something a little different.

* If your pet has a long name, you'll probably want to come up with a shorter nickname.

* Don't worry about taking time to choose the right name. If you can't decide on a name, spend time with them and watch how they move and interact with you. All these antics will help your decision easier, if it takes longer than you first thought, that's okay, a pet isn't just an animal, it's a friend for life and their name is very special. They need to like it too!

* In some cases, you may want a name that will carry well when you need to call your pet from a distance. Names with long vowel sounds tend to work best.

* Always use a pleasant tone of voice when saying your pet's name. You want your pet to like his or her name, not going running when you say it.

* Using Hispanic name for lizards are great ideas eg: Pablo, Pedro, Chico, etc.

Warnings

* Don't name your pet something derogatory or inappropriate.

* Don't yell your pet's name when your pet does something wrong. Your pet may start associating his or her name with you being angry, especially if you don't use the name much in other situations. Just saying "no" is fine.

Reply:I was a fan of the Children's book Bunicula. It is a funny story of a can and dog who are convinced the new pet rabbit is really a vampire. Try that name.

Or if your rabbit has fleas, Bugs Bunny.

Mr or Mrs Floppersworth.

Sampson name means strong but it would be funny for a rabbit.

Mocha for the light brown hair.

I knew a dog named William the Conqueror

Rio is the name of the dog I have now.

Cuddles is a good name for a rabbit, Puddles if he is a bad rabbit.

Don't forget Ba Ba Booey or Ta Ta Toothey

And most importantly remember what ever name you give the rabbit, it will come to you when it wants to.

I do hope that helped or at least made you smile.
Reply:I was going to say "Lunch" but that would be mean. So I will say Fred.
