my puppy's name is Doodles and it just fits him so well because he is so playful and cute-and all the neighborhood children love him (he is lab/husky mix). what makes your pet stand out? and how does your pet name fit them?
Why did you give your pet its name? does it fit their personality?
My cat's name is Sprite (no not like the soda, like the mythical creature!) Two weeks before he was born my mothers best friend had a dream that his mother would give birth to four kittens and one of them would be white. Her daughter(in the dream) named the white on Sprite. And so when his mother (who we didn't know was pregnant) gave birth to four kittens, three of them gray on of them white, we named the white one Sprite.
He has the most beautiful eyes. one is blue the other is half blue half gold split right down the center of the pupil. So when he has one of those cat moments where he is seeing something I cant, I pass it off as him seeing something from the fairy realm and call it good.
PS He is very affectionate and playful, as well as 3x the size of his mother!
Reply:My Bunny is called Lex.
I just liked that name when I named him. But now that I made the connection with Lex Luther it fits so much. He looks as though he is trying to plot world domination ^_^
Reply:my fiance got my daughter and me a schnoodle for Easter and her name is maisy. my daughter wanted to name her that because that is the name of one of her favorite cartoons. i wouldn't say that it fits her but if that is what she wants to call her then so be it.
Reply:I blogged about this a while back, but mostly I picked it because I like it. It does mean something and I think it describes him, but mostly I just like it.

Reply:Our dogs name is Kia . Named after the Kia Sportage the lady that gave us KIa drove up in.
Reply:When I acquired my puppy via a friend who had taken her from a neglectful owner, she was timid ,full of fleas, in need of a bath, you get the picture.
Her original owner named her "Lil' Bit" which sounds like "White Trash" to me. So, with thoughts of building her self-confidence, I waited a while to find a name I thought would fit her and the situation.
One day, as she was snacking on bow-tie pasta I had made for lunch( I give her people food as snacks only) Italian actresses name's started to pop in my head and after I discarded the Italian names, French actresses name's came in and then it hit me. The previous day I had seen a news flash re. Bridget Bardot, who is also an animal activist. So from that day on I named her Baby Bridget Bardot, and called her Baby for short.
Funny thing is, she responded well to the name. Her demeanor changed from submissive to princess overnight and from then on she has ruled the house!
Reply:Most of my pets get thier names from the show/movie/book I am into at the time. People in my family say they can tell what I was watchin by what the animal is caled.
Five of my current crew are named after some movie/show that I was watching at the time.
Reply:I have a Lab/Grey hound cross, my 4 yr old son named her Dafney after Daphney from Scooby doo. It suits her so much though, she is almost all black apart from her paws, there white, looks like she is wearing socks, just like her namesake!
When I was a kid we got a dog, I named him shadow he is a Lab/Alsation black too. He is just like your shadow so much so you'd find yourself tripping over him because he is always behind you even now, he is 11(human)yrs old
Reply:Over the years, I have named my pets after famous people (just their first name, ferret named Glenn); Teddy - my 1st dog; and basically after their personalities -Romeo - sweet, loving dog; Honey Bunny - another sweet loving female dog; Trouble - ferret (but he was really a good boy!); Bandit - ferret (well, his prior owner named him but he did steal my heart); Dot - ferret (because she's so cute); Muffin - ferret (another cutie); Sparky - ferret (he's a live-wire and everywhere); and Mischief - yes, another ferret and yes, she does live up to her name.
Reply:My mare's name is Lizzie, after a lot lizard...(truck stop hooker)...fits her well...trust me..

Reply:We are the third (and last) owner of our dog- a huge black long-hair German Shepherd. When we got him he was already named Spike- and it does not fit him at all. The only reason we may like it is when a salesman comes to the door and he's doing his scarry crazy dog routine and I politely tell the guy "sorry I can't talk to you, Spike wants to kill you." When he's not acting he is the sweetest, loyal, and timid dog you'll ever want to meet. I have no problems when our toddler reaches a hand into his enourmous jaws to get the ball back. We can't name him anything else because he's used to Spike and the only decent thing that's close- Mike- is already the name of a family member.
